Pup Spotlight: Meet Dexter

"I had been looking for a dog for a while, just waiting for the one that felt right. Then I saw on a dog shelter page, this beautiful 9 month old pup named Dexter on the high-kill list. I didn't initially pull the trigger on adopting him but after I kept thinking about him for weeks, something in me just knew — that was my dog.

I drove four hours to Gardena to get him, and then we sat through two hours of traffic on the way home. I didn’t even care. I was just so excited he was coming home with me!

Now he’s four years old, and I honestly can’t imagine my life without him. He’s the perfect mix of German Shepherd and Husky — smart, loyal, a little dramatic, and full of personality. Having Dexter has pushed me to get outside more, be more active, and I’ve met so many amazing people just because of him!

Rescuing him was the best decision I’ve ever made. He didn’t just find a home — he completely changed my life for the best!"
